Notice of Request for Proposal for the Operations of the Gardner Community Center
The City of San José Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services is now accepting applications for a Gardner Community Center (GCC) Qualified Service Provider. The City will establish a qualified service provider to operate and provide services and facility management at the GCC.
The Gardner Community Center, located at 520 W. Virginia Street in San José, is a vital neighborhood center and public asset. The center is situated in the heart of the North Willow Glen Gardner District, a historic neighborhood of San José. The City is seeking a qualified agency for the operation and programming at the GCC.
A grant totaling up to $1,000,000 will be provided to the selected service provider for the non-exclusive use of the Center to provide programming and community services that serve primarily Gardner residents and align with the Gardner Community Center Grant Program’s priority service areas. Through this partnership, the goal is to provide quality programming and high-priority services and resources at GCC and the surrounding neighborhood.
Applicants are invited to a site visit at Gardner Community Center on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to tour the facility, ask questions about the RFP, and learn more about partnership and collaboration opportunities during an Open Forum Session at the end.
The site visit will take place at 520 W Virginia St, San José, CA. We encourage all interested applicants to attend.
Please RSVP via email PRNSprocurements@sanjoseca.gov by Friday, June 20th.
Interested agencies are invited to attend a pre-proposal workshop to review critical information about the program and how to apply for this Request for Proposal. Applicants are strongly encouraged, but are not required, to attend this workshop.
The pre-proposal workshop is scheduled for Thursday, June 27th at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting will be conducted via the virtual Zoom Webinar platform. Please ensure you register in advance of the scheduled meeting date.
